Our story

Made here, in Santa Fe

Sable Frame Photography is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The work is editorial and elegant, built on black and ivory: clean frames, careful light and shadow, and room around the people in them.

Santa Fe gives us much of what we work with. Adobe walls that hold the late sun, deep doorways, shaded courtyards, and the open high desert just past the edge of town. We plan each wedding and each session around those places and the light they have at different hours.

On a wedding day, we follow what happens and step in only when it helps: a word about where to stand, or a move into better light. At a portrait session, we take the time to find a pace that suits you, so the photographs look like you on a good day, not like a pose.

What comes back to you is a gallery that holds together from the first frame to the last, every photograph in the same calm, editorial voice.

What sets us apart

How we work, and why

A few things we hold to on every wedding and every portrait session.

01

Black and ivory, on purpose

We edit in one elegant black and ivory editorial style, so your gallery reads as one story rather than a stack of separate pictures.

02

Santa Fe as the setting

We know how the light falls on adobe, in courtyards and across the desert, and we choose times and places with that in mind.

03

Close by, never in the way

We give direction when it helps and stay quiet when it doesn't, so you can stay with the people you came to be with.

04

Weddings and portraits

The same eye on a full wedding day and in a portrait session, so you can come back to us as your story goes on.
